Barracuda Extends Barracuda Backup Product Line with New Models and Expanded Cloud Pricing Options
Barracuda today announced multiple updates to its Barracuda Backup product line – including new subscription and cloud storage pricing and two new large-scale Barracuda Backup models. Barracuda’s new pricing for Barracuda Backup Vx and Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup provides customers with integrated backup functionality at industry-competitive price points. Barracuda’s new Barracuda Backup 790 and 895 offer 12 TB and 24 TB of usable capacity, respectively. For organizations transitioning to cloud, hybrid, and virtual network configurations or for those who already have made the move, these updates offer additional flexibility for data protection and recovery in a single-source solution.
Barracuda Introduces Advanced Security Capabilities to Protect Customers from Targeted Email Attacks
Barracuda today announced immediate availability of anti-phishing and Advanced Threat Detection security capabilities in its cloud-based email security solutions to protect customers from targeted attacks. The enhancements are available in all editions of Barracuda Essentials for Office 365 and Barracuda Email Security Service to protect against targeted attacks spread via email attachments, as well as Link Protection to safeguard against malicious, phishing and malformed URLs at click time. Barracuda also announced immediate availability of the new Barracuda Essentials for Office 365 Email Security Edition, which combines cloud-based email security and Advanced Threat Detection into a comprehensive email security bundle at a competitive price.
Barracuda Expands NextGen Firewall Product Line to Empower Customers to Securely Connect Thousands of Machine Endpoints
Barracuda today announced it has expanded its next-generation firewall product family with the addition of the new Barracuda NextGen Firewall S-Series, which is designed to empower customers to connect thousands of machine endpoints, such as ATM machines or other remote devices, enabling new ‘Internet of Things’ applications and deployments. Barracuda announced immediate availability of two new products in the S-Series: the Barracuda NextGen Firewall Secure Connector 1 (SC1) and the Barracuda NextGen Secure Access Concentrator (SAC). The Barracuda NextGen SC1 is a small appliance that includes firewalling, Wi-Fi, and full VPN connectivity. The Barracuda NextGen SAC is a virtual gateway – capable of running in Microsoft Azure environments or in private clouds – to optimize network traffic flow and centrally apply next-generation security functionality to deployed SC1 appliances. The Barracuda NextGen Firewall S-Series helps customers enforce proper access privileges, secure and centrally manage all communications, and quickly roll out thousands of devices to untrained staff in remote locations.

Barracuda today launched the Barracuda Vulnerability Manager, a cloud-based service that pinpoints vulnerabilities in websites and web applications quickly and easily. Barracuda Vulnerability Manager detects vulnerabilities such as those on the OWASP Top 10, including SQL injection and Cross-Site Scripting, with a simple point-and-click functionality, making it one of the easiest tools available to detect web application vulnerabilities. Barracuda Vulnerability Manager can scan websites and applications hosted on-premises, in virtual environments, and in public and private clouds, and can seamlessly integrate with the Barracuda Web Application Firewall to automatically create and apply mitigation policies to secure against the vulnerabilities it identifies.
Barracuda Launches Suite of Cloud Services for Added Layers of Protection in Office 365 Environments
Barracuda today announced Barracuda Essentials for Office 365, a suite of cloud services designed to help organizations expand on the security and data protection functionality in Office 365. Barracuda Essentials combines three of Barracuda’s innovative cloud technology solutions – Barracuda Email Security Service, Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service, and Barracuda Cloud Backup – into an easy-to-deploy and manage suite of cloud services with simple per-user licensing. In a survey by TechValidate focused on customer Office 365 migration and deployment plans, the majority of respondents, 72 percent, reported concerns about, or have not considered, whether the security, compliance and backup features in Office 365 meet the needs of their organizations.
Barracuda Introduces New Cloud Archiving Service
In order to assist organizations with compliance and efficiently address eDiscovery requests, Barracuda today announced the availability of the new Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service. This week, Barracuda also outlined its Microsoft Office 365 strategic initiative designed to help organizations manage their businesses more easily, securely, and efficiently when moving to, and operating in, Office 365.
